WildCard Backup Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using WildCard Backup, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What WildCard Backup Does
WildCard Backup helps you copy, organise, clean, and archive media files between source folders or drives, backup folders or drives, and archive folders or drives that you choose.
The app is intended for local media workflows such as backing up SD cards, external drives, camera cards, folders, cloud-backed folders, and network storage locations supported by your device and operating system.
3. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the files, folders, drives, and storage locations you choose.
- You must confirm important backups before deleting, cleaning, formatting, moving, or archiving files.
- You are responsible for keeping additional backups of important data.
- You must use the app only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not violate another person’s rights.
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of any storage provider, cloud folder, external drive, or network storage you use.
4. File Operations and Risk
File backup, cleaning, moving, and archiving operations can involve risk, including accidental deletion, overwriting, corruption, device failure, permission issues, disconnected drives, or user error.
WildCard Backup is a tool to assist your workflow. It is not a substitute for a complete backup strategy. Always verify important files in backup and archive locations before cleaning source media or freeing storage space.
5. Local-First Design
WildCard Backup processes media files locally between the folders and drives you select. Media files are not uploaded to WildCard Backup servers for backup, organisation, cleaning, or archiving.
Internet-connected services such as purchases, ads, analytics, crash reporting, updates, or platform services may be provided by third parties and are described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Purchases, Ads, and App Stores
Free versions of the app may show advertisements. Paid or premium options may remove ads or unlock features where available. Purchases, refunds, and purchase restoration are handled by the applicable app store and may be subject to Apple App Store or Google Play terms.
7. Intellectual Property
WildCard Backup, including its name, branding, website, design, and app functionality, is owned by WildCard Backup or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You retain ownership of your files and media.
8. Prohibited Uses
You must not use WildCard Backup to break the law, infringe rights, interfere with the app, bypass platform restrictions, reverse engineer the app except where legally permitted, or attempt unauthorised access to systems or data.
9. Disclaimers
WildCard Backup is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free operation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WildCard Backup will not be liable for data loss, file corruption, lost profits, lost revenue, device issues, storage device failure, indirect damages, incidental damages, consequential damages, or damages arising from your failure to verify backups before cleaning or deleting files.
Where liability cannot be excluded, liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app or premium features in the twelve months before the claim, or the minimum amount required by law.
11. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update the app or these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted at https://wildcardbackup.com/terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, unless mandatory consumer law in your location requires otherwise.
